Our firm decision is to work from this focused center: One man died for everyone. That puts everyone in the same boat. He included everyone in his death so that everyone could also be included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own II Corinthians 5:14-15 (The Message)
Today is the highest holy day for the Christian faith- the day we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. This miracle is an article of faith for Christians, and the cornerstone of Christian belief. The very idea of resurrection is so refreshing, so life-giving, that it is compelling as a foundation for a new way of life.
The fact that the Christian faith is one that believes in a new life from what has died is the most hopeful concept one can imagine. We humans, by nature fail, sin and let one another down. Yet, there is provision for new starts- recovery from addictions; redemption of broken relationships; restorations of lives broken in many ways.
No matter what your faith orientation might be today, take heart that whatever you may have done to fail another person, or yourself, can be forgiven, and a new start is available. Isn’t that the most compelling thing that life has to offer? A new start!
Happy Easter, my friends, have a new start!
Prayer: Thank you Lord for the new starts you give to us over and over, Amen.
Thanks John. Happy and holy Easter to you. Now go hide your own eggs!!! See you soon.
