Every Time I Think of You…

Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God.                                                                                              Philippians 1:3

Just a simple thought and a humble request today. Join me in praying for our front-line health care workers. The physical and emotional toll on them during this COVID-19 pandemic is incalculable. They experience chronic trauma, dealing with very sick and dying patients- patients for whom they toil to save, and grieve when they are lost.

I personally see the mental health effects on my clients, who already carry the burdens of anxiety, depression, PTSD, or a host of other mental health problems. Add to this the stress of quarantine, feelings of loss of control, uncertainty about loved ones, management of co-morbid physical conditions, marital stress, etc. and we see that the long-term consequences of this disease will not be known for some time to come.

Our health care workers carry even more stress than I can imagine. So, when you see a physician, nurse, nurse practitioner, aides, health-related staff of any kind, and hospital support workers, etc., THANK THEM sincerely, then pray for them.

Prayer: Father, you know the stress and pain our health professionals carry. Lift them up now, keep them safe, and have your Holy Spirit remind them that they are loved and appreciated, Amen.
